Ali Farzad MD, FAAEM, FACEP

I’m a first generation college student who always dreamed of becoming a doctor. I grew up in Los Angeles, California, but my studies and training have taken me across world.

I have dedicated my entire adult life to learning how to take care of sick patients so that I can hopefully make a difference when it counts.

I think working in the Emergency Department is a privilege & I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to do what I absolutely love.

I truly believe I have the best job it the world!

Residency

I completed emergency medicine residency at an incredible academic program at the University of Maryland & Shock Trauma in Baltimore, MD.

Fellowship

I also completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Emergencies at the University of Maryland. I used this extra training to focus on gaining expertise in bedside echocardiography, emergency electrocardiography, teaching, and research.

Attending

I’m currently a practicing board certified emergency physician at a level 1 trauma center in Dallas, TX. I have administrative duties as the medical director of our observation unit, and also as an assistant ED medical director. I also love to teach and serve as a clinical assistant professor for Texas A&M College of Medicine.

I love clinical emergency medicine and I am a self professed ECG nerd.

I help as an editor at ECGWeekly.com and serve as a section editor for the cardiovascular section of the online EM textbook Corependium.
